Ms Muthoni Gatere
Ms Muthoni Gatere is an advocate of the High court of Kenya with 29 years experience focused mainly in negotiating complex commercial contracts as well expertise in Maritime Law. She has held senior positions in an international Port. Her managerial experience includes corporate governance having been a Board Secretary for over 15 years. She also is a highly experience in port operations and performance, policy development, strategic issues and business plans.
Ms. Gatere holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s degree in International Maritime Law (LLM) from the IMO- IMLI, Malta. She is a Member of the Law Society of Kenya and the Institute of Public Secretaries. Ms Gatere has attended numerous professional training sessions world over. She is a Director in various companies and serves as a Trustee in her church.
MR. Ushwin Khanna
Mr. Khanna is a senior consultant with Anjarwalla & Khanna. His practice focuses mainly on civil and commercial litigation, admiralty and maritime law, appellate practice, commissions of inquiry and alternative dispute resolution. He has been a member of a task force appointed by the Attorney General to review all maritime laws in Kenya.
Ushwin obtained his LLB from the University of Nairobi and a postgraduate diploma from the Kenya School of Law. He is a member of the law society of Kenya and International Bar Association (IBA). He has been recognized by Chambers Global 2016 as a practitioner of notable repute and won an award in the category of litigation and dispute resolution-Kenya by Lawyer Monthly Legal Awards 2015. Best Lawyers International 2014 also voted him one of the best litigation and maritime lawyers in Kenya.
Hon. Nyakweba is the principal Magistrate at the Mombasa Law Courts with over 12 years experience in the Judiciary and 6 years as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, an LLB, a post graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of law, CPS (K) and CPM (MTI).
He is a certified professional mediator and a champion for Alternative Dispute Resolution
Mr. Mangerere is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators (IAM) and the President, Mediation Training Institute East Africa. He is a highly experienced speaker and trainer in Mediation, and has conducted skills training and educational programs in mediation for many leading companies and international organizations. Mr. Mangerere has mediated international cases and disputes involving a wide range of domestic and cross-border contract breaches, trademark infringements, insured claims, licenses, and business partnerships.
He is a member of the Professional Trainers Association of Kenya, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators London, Law Society of Kenya, Institute of certified public secretaries of Kenya (ICSK), Kenya Institute of Management and the East Africa Law Society. He is a Chartered Mediator (ICMC), an accredited Master Professional Mediation Trainer, A Certified Conflicts Dynamics Profile User, Patron Society of Mediators of East and Central Africa. Mr. Mangerere is the first mediator from the African continent to be inducted into the prestigious International Academy of Mediators (IAM).
Dr. Sarah Kinyanjui
Dr. Sarah Kinyanjui is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Nairobi, School of Law and is currently serving as the Director, Mombasa Campus. She also teaches a postgraduate course on Women and the Criminal Justice at the Southern and Eastern African Regional Centre for Women’s Law in Zimbabwe.
She is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, an accredited assistant counsel at the International Criminal Court and a certified professional mediator. She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Leicester in UK and a Master in Laws in Development (LL.M with Distinction) from the University of Warwick in UK and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Honours) from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
Kinyanjui has research interests in mediation, arbitration criminal justice, restorative justice, human rights, international criminal law, gender and transitional justice.
Edward Maoncha Bosire
Mr. Bosire is a land administration and management expert having worked for several years as a government land officer in the ministry of lands. He is currently the National Land Commission County Coordinator in charge of Mombasa County. He is a certified Professional mediator with MTI International and has mediated several land related disputes.
Bosire holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the University of Nairobi and an ISK postgraduate diploma from the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) and is trained in corporate governance in Fishing and Maritime affairs and is trained in corporate Governance. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Economics (Cooperation and Human Development) at Kenyatta University.
He is a full member of the institution of Surveyors of Kenya (MISK) and serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Land Commission Staff Retirement Pension Scheme. He has been nominated by the National Land Commission (NLC) to the inter-ministerial task force on cooperation between the Government of South Korea and Kenya in Fishing & Maritime affairs and also to the task force on Blue Economy.
Farida K. Jadi
Ms. Jadi is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya admitted to the bar in the year 2010. She practices Family Law, Land Law, Commercial Law, Constitutional and Human Rights Law and is the Managing Partner at Madzayo Mrima and Company Advocates. She is also a certified and accredited Mediator with the Judiciary in Kenya and a member of the Mediation Training Institute and the Law Society of Kenya
She has served as a Board Member of the Kwale Water and Sewerage Company limited.
Jacqueline is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and practicing Certified Public Secretary since 1998 and 2000 respectively. She is experienced in commercial law, conveyancing, Alternative Dispute Resolution and governance.
She is an ADR champion and leading practitioner in the coast region and is currently serving as the Chairman and Convener of the Mombasa Law Society ADR and Maritime Committees. She is a seasoned Arbitrator and Mediator holding an advanced certification in Mediation from Mediation Training Institute (EA), She is also an accredited mediator with the Judiciary of Kenya as well as an advanced certified adjudicator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, an accredited governance auditor (ICSPSK) and a licensed patent agent.
Jacqueline holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Nairobi, a postgraduate diploma in law and is currently pursuing a Master of laws specializing in Public Financial services Law at the University of Nairobi.
